Cameras

Our members use various types of cameras, although most have settled on a digital SLR from one of the major manufacturers. Most own Canon or Nikon systems, although some prefer Olympus or Fuji cameras. In addition to an SLR, most members also shoot a digital point and shoot camera at times. No matter what you have, others in the group probably use similar equipment.

Our primary focus is on still photography. Although some members use camcorders, that is the exception, not the rule.

  Computers

Many of our members are experienced in the use of Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and other mainstream photo applications. Both Windows and Macintosh platforms are represented. No matter your computer preference, you will not be alone.

To show pictures at our meetings, we use a Windows laptop and digital projector. We ask our members to bring their digital photos on a USB flash drive, although some people bring CDs or DVDs. (We do not have a live internet connection at our meetings.)

If you are not comfortable enough with the technology to bring pictures on digital media, we encourage you to bring prints or albums instead. Even our most experienced members often bring print enlargements to share with the group.
